MODEL V25F

For flow applications the V25 visual indicator is supplied with a flow-sensing paddle suitable for use in pipes both large and small. Designated V25F, the visual flow
indicator is a self-powered magnetically operated insertion indicator that can be used in pipes ranging from 25mm (1”) upward. The indicator simply screws into a
standard pipe tee or socket and provides a clear bright red or green face as an indication of flow or lack of flow. The V25F flow indicator is available with a normally
red face that changes to green when flow is detected. Normally red is the standard configuration and is supplied as the default model unless otherwise specified.
The indicator is also available with a normally green face that changes to red when flow is detected. The reversed colour models can be used to indicate danger when
flow is present. Visual flow indicators generally have heavy glass or plastic pressure windows that allow an operator to view the process liquid. The V25F uses a unique
coloured flag to indicate flow or lack of flow. The flag operates magnetically in a sealed see through chamber. There are no pressure windows to fail in the V25F flow
indicator. The V25F can be used in coloured or turbid liquids. It can also be used in air and gases and in liquids containing solids. When fitted with a suitable trailing
wire sensor it can even be used in effluent and sewage applications.

MODEL V25L

For tank level monitoring, the V25 visual indicator is supplied with a float and arm suitable for installing through the sidewall of a tank. Designated V25L the float level
indicator is ideal for non-electrical level indication in water, chemical and diesel fuel tanks. The V25L is available with a normally green or a normally red face. The
indicator must be ordered with the correct coloured face for the intended application. As an example, for a low level indicator the V25L would be ordered as NR,
(Normally Red). When the level is above the indicator the face of the NR indicator will be green indicating all is OK. It will change to red indicating low level if the level
drops below the indicator. For a high-level indicator application the V25L should be ordered as NG (Normally Green). The face of this indicator is green when the level
is below the indicator. It turns red if the level rises above the indicator to warn the tank is full and about to overflow

INTRODUCTION

Basic pump controllers that integrate flow and pressure normally start on pressure or flow and stop when flow stops. More advanced controllers such as our F40 series provide an adjustable run-on that allows time for pressure to rise in the system before the pump is shut down. The F50 advanced pump controller takes pump control to the next level. In addition to the usual start on pressure stop on flow system used in most pump controllers, it adds the ability to set an upper pressure limit on the system. This feature means the system pressure can’t exceed safe pressure limits. It means that low class pipe can be used in a fully automatic pump system without any risk of bursting the pipework.

Unlike a basic pressure switch operated system that also sets an upper pressure limit, the F50 learns from its environment and remembers what the upper pressure limit is. In normal operation the F50 lets the pump start and stop instantly on flow. If the system pressure creeps up and eventually reaches the cutout pressure, the F50 automatically reverts to pressure start mode and will not allow the pump to start regardless of flow demand until the pressure has fallen to the startup pressure. This system gives the user the best features of an F40 pump controller with the added advantage of an adjustable high-pressure limit on the system.

PG20 PRESSURE GUARD

FeaturesPressure-guard

  • BURST PROTECTION FOR PIPE SYSTEMS
  • DRY RUN PROTECTION FOR PUMPS
  • SAFETY CONTROL FOR PUMPS

Description

The Kelco PG20 Pressure Guard is a dedicated pressure operated safety device that can be set to
shut down a pump if the system pressure exceeds a preset level or falls below a preset level. It can
be set for over pressure protection, under pressure protection or both.

Introduction

In pumping systems it is often desirable to protect pipework and equipment against excess pressure. For example, a high head
bore pump can easily burst low class poly pipe if the standing water level in a bore is unusually high. Pumps can also benefit
from dry run protection. A simple transfer pump can be badly damaged if run dry. A dedicated pressure trip switch that shuts
down a pump on either excessively high or low pressure or on no pressure is a great benefit in many applications.
More complicated pumping systems that may have pressure switches or any type of controls will benefit from a dedicated
pressure trip switch that acts as a guard over the whole system and shuts down the process if pressure rises or falls beyond
settable levels.

Description

The E20 loss of prime pressure switch is a solid-state digital pressure switch specifically for the control and protection of
domestic and industrial pressure pumps and air compressors.

Pressure switches normally have two set points, a low pressure cut in point and a high pressure cut out point.
A pump under the control of such a switch operates between the two set points. If pressure is lost due to the pump
running dry or due to a burst pipe the pump will continue to run simply because the pressure switch remains on.
In such a situation the pump will invariably sustain substantial damage due to being run dry. The E10 pressure switch
addresses this problem by providing a third adjustable switch point that can be set below the normal operating range to
turn the pump off and prevent it being damaged if it runs dry.

Applications

  • Domestic pressure systems
  • Industrial pump control
  • Compressor control
  • Irrigation pump control
  • Pool & Spa systems
  • Wash down systems
  • Water treatment
  • Bore pump control
  • Seawater Pressure

LC20 Modular level switch

Features

  • Australian made
  • Versatile multipoint level sensors
  • For tank gauging and level control
  • Suits PVC or Stainless systems
  • Serviceable and expandable
  • Simple and reliable
  • IP67 Weatherproof
  • Easily adjustable

Description

A number of compact highly weatherproof sensing heads are positioned along a vertical riser pipe that is attached to the side of a tank. The riser pipe is made from
a length of standard 20mm PVC or 1 inch stainless steel or copper tube. Liquid level rising and falling in the tank and in the riser pipe carries a small magnetic float
through the sensor heads and provides a series of switching points that can be used for a multitude of level control and sensing applications. Typical uses include
water treatment equipment, beverage, cosmetics and pharmaceutical manufacture, chemical metering systems, water features and a vast variety of mechanical
services and process control applications. A typical system comprises a tank with an externally mounted balance pipe, or riser pipe alongside. The riser pipe is
connected to the base of the tank and is constructed from standard pipe and fittings. Liquid level in the tank maintains an equal level in the riser pipe. As the level
of liquid in the tank changes so does the level in the adjacent riser. A small float containing a magnet rides up and down within the riser pipe, and is carried through
the sensor heads, causing them to sequentially switch.

  • No metal parts in contact with liquids
  • 240V, 24VAC and DC models available
  • Reliable proven construction
  • Weatherproof enclosure
  • Suits pipes 25mm and above
  • 18 BAR (260 PSI) Pressure Rating
  • Stainless models available

Description

The F30 Pump Controller is a microprocessor based electronic flow switch that monitors both flow and pressure. When included in a pressure system it
vastly improves overall performance and gives the benefit of both constant flow and dry run protection. Pressure systems cycle between low and high
pressure, not because this gives the user any advantage but simply because a pressure differential is required to operate the pressure switch that
normally controls such pumps. The user sees the effect as fluctuations in pressure at the tap. If loss of prime occurs, a pump controlled by a pressure
switch will run the pump dry and can cause major damage.

  • Corrosion resistant body
  • Weatherproof IP56 housing
  • Unique trailing stainless cable sensor
  • Widely adjustable flow sensitivity
  • Suits open channel pressure applications
  • 18 Bar Pressure rating
  • Variety of electrical options available

Description

The Kelco trailing wire flow switches are unique sensors that can be used in applications where conventional flow switches would fail.
Principally intended for control of data acquisition equipment monitoring influx and effluent systems, these switches are equally
useful in high velocity flows, or in any situation where liquids may contain solids or materials that would damage normal flow switches.
These trailing wire switches have evolved to meet the need for flow sensors that are capable of maintenance free performance in the
most arduous of environments. Conventional flow switches use flat paddles to detect liquid movement. Such paddles are prone to
damage if liquid velocity is high, or if the liquid contains solids of any appreciable size. The unique trailing stainless wire used in the
switch is simply deflected by high flow rates or by impact with entrained materials. Material will not build on, or tangle around the
trailing wire. With virtually no exceptions, the material being monitored will simply deflect the wire.

Applications

  • Data logging of effluent flows
  • River management and farm run off systems
  • Conveyor belt solids detection
  • Control and logging of industrial waste
  • Open channel data aquisition
  • Slurry pipe monitoring
  • Chemical process control
